When should you seek physical therapy?
The best answer to that is-as early as you can. Early treatment is the most effective way to handle any onset of pain or injury.
If you start to have acute or nagging physical pain, you should contact a physical therapist. Doing this will prevent it from becoming a chronic problem that can have a dramatic effect on your level of pain and the quality of your life.
It is much more challenging and can take a lot more time to fix an issue that has become chronic and it certainly becomes more costly.
One of the tendencies we have is when we start experiencing a problem we may first ignore it and hope it goes away, or we may take a pain reliever, which only masks the problem, but the best action is to address what's going on as soon as possible.
Once you seek help from a phyiscal therapist, you will learn about your injury, how to treat it, and how to manage it once you are done with physical therapy. You will have home exercises that you can always rely on in the future to help you if you have a future reoccurence.
